Program Description: 

The ThedaCare Patient Safety and Care Improvement conference is designed to change physician competence by strengthening their ability to critically analyze adverse outcomes, communicate effectively across disciplines, and apply evidence-based guidelines in complex cases. It is intended to change physician performance by fostering open discussions that translate case-based learning into actionable quality improvement strategies within their practice environment. Ultimately, these conferences aim to improve patient outcomes by reducing preventable errors, enhancing care coordination, and ensuring the consistent application of current best practices to deliver safer, higher-quality care.

Learning objectives: 
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
 
• Evaluate fluid management strategies in high‑risk clinical contexts by weighing physiologic tradeoffs, uncertainty, and dynamic reassessment.

• Recognize and appraise early warning signs of emerging iatrogenic harm from common interventions like intravenous fluids and non-invasive ventilation, and prioritize timely mitigation strategies within evolving care trajectories.
