Program Description:
Topics discussed in Medical Grand Rounds are both common and uncommon medical problems, many of which are selected at the request of attendees (practitioners and residents). Sometimes we select a topic based on our understanding of practice and/or knowledge gaps identified during Morning Report or other face-to-face meeting with residents. Sometimes we select the topic because of our understanding of the recent scientific advances in the area. The presenter discusses the topic emphasizing areas that the audience had requested. This might involve diagnosis and/or treatment with the appropriate inclusion of pathophysiology. The goal is to address the topic in such a manner that the presentation would address the practice gaps or knowledge gaps identified in the area.
