Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
- Review the goals of the EMERGE annual review process.
- Share the process improvement efforts to enhance EMERGE to be meaningful and impactful to APPs in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
- Collaborate with other department leads/managers to discuss positive/negative aspects of their EMERGE process.
- Recognize the required steps in the Results Review process and how to prepare well for the review conversation.
- Identify how to utilize additional resources within the system to get the most out of performance management
- Generate awareness of MCW clinical communication strategies, approaches and resources.
- Gain a shared analysis of the value of collaboration in developing effective, bi-directional communication.
- Leaders analyze the resources available for them and their teams.
- Identify and apply the administrative requirements in situations in which FMLA and ADA and corrective action may apply.
- Recognize the role of Human Resources and the role as a leader when addressing situations of ADA, FMLA, and corrective action.
- Explain best practices and MCW’s policies regarding trial periods, corrective action and staff conflict resolution appeals, and separation of employment to reduce the risk of litigation.
