Learning Objectives

  • Indicate cancer therapy targets in the somatic and germline genome.
  • Identify the differential functional and therapeutic significance of genomic alterations in a context dependent fashion.
  • Summarize the relevance of spatiotemporal heterogeneity and clonal evolution as it pertains to targeted therapy in cancer.

This module is presented with a pre-recorded PowerPoint presentation and sound.  An audio lecture is given using visual key points listed on the PowerPoint presentation.  Following the presentation, learners will be asked quiz questions to test retainment of knowledge gained in the presentation. Learners are able to complete the module at their own pace.

Ben George, MD is an Associate Professor of Medicine and the William F. Stapp Endowed Chair in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI. Dr. George is a GI medical oncologist with a research and clinical focus on Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma. He is the Associate Director of Cancer Genomics and Precision Medicine at the Genomic Sciences and Precision Medicine Center at the Medical College of Wisconsin and serves as the Director of the Phase 1 Clinical Trials program.
