Precision Medicine Continuing Education Program Fall 2024

Precision medicine is an innovative approach to tailoring disease diagnosis, treatment and prevention that accounts for differences in patient’s genomics, lifestyles, and environments. This recurrent semiannual series of an AMA 15-credit continuing medical education (CME) and maintenance of certification (MOC II) course provides physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, genetic counselors, and other health care professionals with knowledge, experiences and skills to transform their clinical practices to include precision medicine.
 
Micro-credentialing credit may be applied to enrolling in the MCW Precision Medicine certificate and Master of Science (MS) program for students upon completion. The 15-hour CME course is 25% of the 60-hour, 3-credit Introduction to PM course in the Graduate School. Thus, the CME course will be worth 0.75 credits to be applied toward the Graduate School course.

  • Formulate Precision Medicine ideas for cultural transformation of more personalized health care.

The National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) has authorized The Medical College of Wisconsin to offer up to 1.5 CEUs or 15 Category 1 contact hours for the activity Precision Medicine Continuing Education Program Fall 2024. The American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) will accept CEUs earned at this program for the purposes of genetic counselor recertification.
 

December 10th, 2024 is the deadline to claim Category 1 CEUs.  Your NSGC User ID must be emailed to Kellie LeGrave at  klegrave@mcw.edu. 

Note: Contact the NSGC directly to obtain your Category 1 CEU certificate after January 1st, 2025.  The Medical College of Wisconsin will NOT be issuing this certificate.

 

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to: 

-15 Lifelong Learning MOC points in the American Board of Anesthesiology MOC Program
-15 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program
-15 Self-Assessment points in the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery’s Continuing Certification program
-15 CME points for the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery’s Maintenance of Certification program
-15 Lifelong Learning Credits in the American Board of Pathology’s Continuing Certification program
-15 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program; and
